WHY PEOPLE LOVE THE SUGAR LAND, TEXAS
Where:
Sugar Land is southwest of central Houston. With Richmond to the left/west of Sugar Land, I-69, Grand Parkway Toll Rd (99) running through it, and about 23 miles to central Houston, you are fairly local to the city.
Why:
Many people like Sugar Land because it allows for a manageable drive to any medical center or downtown jobs. The schools of Fort Bend ISD are also amazing, with A-rated schools. The taxes are high but the commute and family-friendly area are usually what draws people in.
District Rating:
A. The schools are one of the top features of Sugar Land. While Fort Bend ISD is A-rated, there is a small pocket of schools on the southeast side of Sugar Land that are C rated, which is something to note when looking for houses in the area.
Nearby:
The Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land has an aquarium and dome theatre that is all local to Sugar Land. Fort Bend Children's Discovery Center is local, offering a life-size city for kids to interact and explore. There are tons of trails and parks, even a rose garden and pond.
