WHY PEOPLE LOVE VILLAGE OF OAK LAKE IN SUGAR LAND TX

Where is Village of Oak Lake:

Village of Oak Lake is a community settled between Highway 6 and the Grand Parkway, bordering Old Richmond Road. Just thirty minutes southwest of downtown Houston, the town of Sugar Land serves up big city amenities with small town hospitality. Whether it's a piece of history, on-trend shopping or hours of family fun, the town offers something sweet for everyone.

Since its incorporation as a city in 1959, residents live in a master-planned community with many parks and recreational facilities, first-class shopping and medical facilities, also ranking as one of America’s safest cities since 2008. Sugar Land has been recognized as one of America's Best Places to Live and has been named a Community of Respect by the Anti-Defamation League.

Although the growing of sugar cane ended in 1928, the economic foothold it gave the city has helped increase the population from less than 2,000 to 117,869 residents today. Not to mention, Sugar Land is home to one of the most globally diverse populations within the nation.

District Rating:

A-Rated | Fort Bend ISD has overall A's in academics, diversity, sports, college prep, and clubs & activities. Fort Bend ISD earned a Superior rating, an A, in the Texas Education Agency (TEA) Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) for the 2019-20 school year. The district scored 92 points out of a possible 100 rating points, and this is FBISD’s 17th Superior rating. Fort Bend County is one of the fastest growing counties in the nation. As the largest school district in the county, Fort Bend ISD is an outstanding K-12 public education system.

The District is Texas’ eighth largest with more than 77,000 students and one of the most diverse in the nation. Working and learning cohesively alongside families who speak more than 90 languages and dialects, the schools work together with students, their families and the community to address each student’s unique needs. FBISD currently has 81 campuses: 11 high schools, 15 middle schools, 51 elementary campuses and four specialty schools to address the academic and vocational interests of students. With more than 11,000 full-time employees and substitutes, the District is the largest employer in Fort Bend County. Fort Bend ISD is committed to its mission to inspire and equip all students to pursue futures beyond what they can imagine.

Within reach, you'll find a Wal-mart, Food Town, Kroger, and Whole Foods for all your shopping needs. Just a few miles down Highway 6, Cullinan Park provides bird habitats, more trails, lakes and designated picnic sites. The well-known First Colony Mall and Sugar Land Town Square have every dining and shopping opportunity you could imagine. Altitude Trampoline Park is available for tons of evening or weekend fun. Worth mentioning again, home is just 30 minutes away from downtown Houston, meaning you'll have easy access to the Houston Zoo, Aquarium, University of Houston downtown campus and more!
