Velvet Taco Comes to The Woodlands TX

Hi friend,

I am writing to you tonight with a full stomach because the popular Dallas-based fusion taco chain, Velvet Taco, has arrived in The Woodlands! Residents of The Woodlands and surrounding cities are piling in to give the new location, on Gosling just south of Research, a try. I visited tonight for the first time, and there was not a single open table!

Velvet Taco serves an interesting menu of fusion tacos that are inspired by cuisines from around the world. This spot is not your typical taco joint offering unique creations such as the “chicken n waffle” taco or the "Korean fried rice" taco (with egg fried rice, Korean Pork, red chili aioli, jalapeños, grilled pineapple and cilantro). They have their taco menus broken down into meat categories including chicken, pork, beef and fish, but also have an assortment of vegetarian options including the “Nashville hot tofu” which looked amazing. They also feature a special WTF (weekly taco feature) so be sure to take that masterpiece into consideration. Currently the WTF is an "Italian sub taco" with capocollo, pepperoni, salami, ham, provolone, sweet Italian vinaigrette, lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo crema all on a  flour tortilla!

The Texas-sized menu would not be complete without chips and queso as an appetizer and a "boozy liberations" section. Velvet Taco serves beer, a "kick A** Margarita", Paloma and Ranch Waters. For dessert they serve only one thing, their famous red velvet cake.

The restaurant is stand alone tucked behind the trees (in true Woodlands fashion). It features a beautiful mural outside below their illuminated  purple neon sign. They offer seating indoors and out on their spacious patio with twinkly lights for when the weather is a little warmer.

The fun culinary experience coupled with the truly laid back and unique atmosphere makes for the perfect new get-together spot. Go check Velvet Taco out today and let us know what you think!
